    Good Beer in Brittany

Thanks, guys. An, Ankou, Lannion is the nearest town. I love bière de garde, but that is obviously more of a north east thing. I know Jenlein is famous for bière de garde and the supermarket had their IPA on offer so I tried that and it was pretty good, but obviously not traditional French. I’ve...

    Good Beer in Brittany

I’m on holiday in Brittany. Can anyone recommend a good local (or at least French) beer I am likely to find in supermarkets here.

    Kveik

I have decided to do a NEIPA with Kveik Hothead due to the heat at the moment meaning I can't use my preferred 1318 (my fermenting fridge is taken for another week and I want to have time to do another brew before I go away.) I've seen comments here about correct pitching levels. Is a full pouch...

Make an offer - Dark Farm Mini Keg Systems

So what is the difference in what they do? They both seem to have a tap and a sodastream connector. I'm really sorry, I'm just starting to research kegs and I quite like the look of these but, as you can see, I don't have much of a clue about how they work.

Make an offer - Dark Farm Mini Keg Systems

I'm probably being dim, but what is the difference between the top left and bottom right on your 10 litre page?

Reusing yeast from high ABV beer

I have harvested yeast (WY1318) from a Double IPA which came out at about 8.5%. Will it be ok to reuse it for a 6% NEIPA?

    Malvern Hills Spring Water

Does anyone use the water from the various springs in Malvern and if so what styles does the profile suit?

    Soda crystals for cleaning bottles

What amount do you use them in?

    Soda crystals for cleaning bottles

I'm sure I read somewhere that soaking bottles in soda crystals is a good way to get crud off them, but I can't find it anywhere. Have I imagined it?

    Thoughts on this recipe please...

I have brewed this kind of thing with 100g hops added at 75 - 80 c for 30 mins and then a big (100g) dry hop for 3 days in a 20l brew. It was my best brew yet. My understanding is that you will get some bittering with post flame out hops, although the software may say not.

    Hello from Redditch

My kit primping tip (never having actually made one!) would be to consider buying your own yeast. You can play with strains plus it will be fresher than the one that’s been sat in the shop at room temperature for quite some time.

Best value hops for tropical juicy ipa

Hop price is why I've moved to this company having been a long term fan of MM.

    Malt Miller Brilliant Service.

I don't know what I'm going to do now my local shop has closed. I can't always afford to spend £100 at a time, which then makes smaller orders pricey because of the high p and p. He adds VAT onto that £6, so it's actually £7.20.

    Wychwood Bottles

Thanks, guys, I already have a bench capper so all is good.

    Wychwood Bottles

Thanks, guys. I have a bench capper so I’ve just got an extra 24 bottles!

    Wychwood Bottles

I have used these without any problems but have heard they don’t always seal with a regular crown cap. I stopped using them as I had plenty of others but, after an enthusiastic spell of brewing, I’m running low and only have Wychwood bottles left. Has anyone had problems with them?

    Thornbridge Big Easy

Thanks, I'll definitely give it a try.

    Thornbridge Big Easy

Sounds worth a try. Have you tried Nanny State and if so how would you rate them to each other.

    What style is it?

    Cultivating sour yeast.

Aaah, that makes sense. I'll ditch it then.
