    Rust in a Cornie?

Morning all, I have a 'budget' type cornie keg which doesn't have the protective rubber rings at either end, it's just a plain old steal casing and handle. On the inside of the keg at the bottom there are 4 weld seams which correspond with the 4 weld seams which show on the outside as...

Advice on boilers please - anyone near Leeds able to help?

I have already got my burco which I bought second hand locally from a local advert. It's a cygnet 28l and (whilst I haven't used it yet) I'll be using it for 19l brew lengths. Tap and hop stopper are dead easy on this one and i plan to bypass the switch/ thermostat to achieve the rolling boil

    Help added to much sugar!!!

Yes, split that one down to two 2.5 gallon vessels and top each vessel up with 2.5 gallons of another Hambleton bard kit but without adding any more sugar. Essentially you are just diluting the liquid you have now with another suitable liquid and making ten gallon of what you wanted in the...

    Help added to much sugar!!!

I reckon the yeast will struggle to get rid of that sugar for you and even if it does it'll take a while! The only thing I can think of is to buy another kit and double up the volume but don't add any more sugar.... In other words, you have already put enough sugar in to do two kits (at...

    Making Mead

You could add soap...! Alternatively, get the honey out and dissolved in water then skim off any wax that comes with it.

Introducing the 'Barter System' to LE's home brewing

You could try him with a wheat beer? Seem to suit most lager drinkers and the run up to summer could help with the higher fermentation temps... 50% wheat malt 50% maris otter Hallertauer hersbrucker to about 15 to 20 IBU. Use a decent wheat beer yeast though...
