    I recently brewed a Fixby Gold with 500g hopped spraymalt added - that came out around 5% for 23 litres. Haven't tried it yet though, it's conditioning in bottles for Christmas

    Your plan sounds like a good one. I've got one of these kits to put on as well. I'll be adding 915g of spraymalt to mine and maybe 100g of dextrose (just because I have some). I'll probably brew to 22 litres. I'll put 1/2 a hop tablet in the secondary fv before bottling too. If you're wondering...

    I've got one of these as my next brew but I've only done 3kg kits prior to this .... instructions recommend 500g dme and 300g dextrose. My questions are .. Is dextrose the same as brewing sugar? and Would using 800g dme make any improvement? Thanks gang!

    Woodforde's Wherry?

    First brew I did was a Wherry, I followed the instructions exactly. It got down to 1014 and was a nice brew even though I think I drunk it before it was fully conditioned. I'e since done a second one where I rehydrated the yeast and left it in the fv for two weeks and that got down to 1011. Both...
