as we are back on TC can i ask a question please, due to the success of my last TC, BS's recipe, thought i would get another one on yesterday 25 litres of apple juice, unfortunately, i didn't check the recipe :oops: added 3 kilo of sugar got a SG of 1084, can this be rescued!!!!!! :pray:

sorry i am very new to this, so basically what you are saying is to take the clear tubing which goes to the tap off the cornie and put a wider one on.

'Norm does a nice one fitted to the keg but with only 1ft of 3/8th's pipe you're only ever going to get foam so you need to modify that with some 3/16th's pipe and JG fittings' Parva, could you just expand on this a little for me please.

well someone has suggested that as the last 20 litre batch of TC started at 1064 and this 10 litre batch started at 1084 as i have doubled the volume i should use a OG of 1074. Ok so i have had a few lunchtime pints and it makes perfect sense, so that is it. :party:

wonder if this will work, seems as good as any OG 1084 - FG 1044 = 4% OG 1054 - FG 1015 = 5.2% Total ABV = 9.2% Any views?

From the taste i have a feeling it will be a good one, however as you know the first thing anyone asks is how strong is it, i do need to warn people if it is falling down juice :twisted:

My first brew stuck at 1022, i used a youngs yeast, tried stirring the yeast and added another packet of yeast but to no avail. Am now drinking the beer and it tastes malty but very nice. So you could try giving it a stir and see if that gets the yeast to kick in again.

This has been a disaster After 2 and a half weeks of fermenting the og of 1084 had dropped to 1044 but still far too thick and sweet. So as a rescue package i have added 9 liters of apple juice taking the total to 20 litres and an OG of 1054 and added a pkt of cider yeast, it tastes much...

oh well, we live and learn

can i prevent that?

i got it wrong it said antioxidant:ascorbic acid so i have gone for it 10 litres of pear juice and a litre and a half of apple juice i had laying about, threw in 2 and half kilos of sugar which took the OG up to 1084. Maybe that was a mistake don't want it sweet!!!!

well it was antioxidant,(comma) ascorbic acid :pray:

I suppose there is no way of killing them off. should i go for it or not waste my time? :hmm:

Ingredients: Water, Pear Puree (30%) Pear Juice form concentrate (20%) sugar, glucose-fructose syrup, lemon juice from concentrate, antioxidant,ascorbic acid. sounds awful

Just bought 10 litres of T***o pear juice, it seems to have various additives, would you recommend boiling before adding yeast or just go for it? :wha:

if i bought a few liters of strawberry juice and added some yeast, would i get Turbo Strawberry Cider??? :wha:

is there a correct PSI to keep my TC at? i want to give it some fizz, i am currently keeping it at 20 PSI, the temperature in the garage is about freezing, it is cold out.

yes, there is gas in the corny. the only thing i am now finding hard to understand is how i regulate the gas flow so that i can leave the gas on and maintain a steady 20 psi in the corny.

just set up my corny, the pressure gauge is steady at 30 psi but the other gauge is showing 0 and its a new bottle, any suggestions???????????
