What's the worst that could happen?

I'm afraid I bottled it - no pun intended! I couldn't face the possibility of having to sit on the bog all day tomorrow so I cut out the middle man by chucking it down the drain. Smelled ok though! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

What's the worst that could happen?

So I've got one bottle left of a brew I made, the last one I poured, and it's poured out super-cloudy (youngs American amber ale) as there was a lot of sediment in it. Is it drinkable? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Bottle brush

I've got a neat little brush which is kind of a spongy thing on a wire which is great for cleaning 500ml bottles. I just bought some 1L bottles and it doesn't reach the bottom so they are a right pain to clean properly. Does anyone know of any longer brush that they have used on bigger bottles...

    Magnum Apple cider question

Hi all Not sure if anyone's made this before but mine hasn't turned out that great. Start date 24/5 bottled 03/6, SG 1042 FG 995. Brewed as per kit, siphoned off into another vessel, added the sugar and cider concentrate thingy, mixed well then bottled into litre bottles. The thing is it's...

On the Rocks Apple Cider - is it working?

All went really well, it's probably a bit sweeter than I'd like so maybe I'd add a bit less sugar either at fermenting or bottling phase, I'm not really sure how that would affect the sweetness?

    Need a quick lager kit

Thanks for the advice..... Went to my LHBS and found the coopers cerveza. Should do the trick, I already have a cider waiting to be bottled so I'll crack on tomoro and, weather permitting, the party/bbq will be a sozzled affair. Ur all invited [emoji3]

    Need a quick lager kit

Hi there. Not really sure if I'm peeing into the wind here but I'm having a party on July 11th and wondered if I might just have enough time to get a lager ready to drink by then. If so, any suggestions? Nothing too clever is needed, just a standard fosters type job will suffice.

On the Rocks Apple Cider - is it working?

OG of 1.040 is now down to .994 after 8 days. It's less cloudy now and I've had a slurp and it tastes ok. What a difference a few days make! It was positively rank when I first took a sniff, it was like something you might clean your patio with! Will bottle up once it's level for a few days but...

On the Rocks Apple Cider - is it working?

That's pretty much exactly how mine looks after 5 days. It did have a head in it for about 48 hrs then it disappeared

On the Rocks Apple Cider - is it working?

Ok thanks again, it's gone really cloudy too, is that normal?

On the Rocks Apple Cider - is it working?

Ok thanks, that's a relief, first cider I've done and all that. The beers I've done up to now smell totally different, this just smells unpleasant?!

On the Rocks Apple Cider - is it working?

Oops didn't realise there was a different section for ciders, can any mods move this please?

On the Rocks Apple Cider - is it working?

Hi all I just started the above kit a few days ago, as per all instructions and all my kit was cleaned and sterilised. It's been going 4 days now and I noticed that it's gone cloudy, and smells really acidic. It's fizzing and the smell is quite acrid. The first few days there was a nice head on...

Brew 3 - Youngs American Pale Ale

Yeah mine was very hoppy too. Just drank two more bottles having not touched it for a few weeks and it tastes hoppy but I think less so than when I first drank it.

Brew 3 - Youngs American Pale Ale

Just reporting back after being busy for a month. All bottled up and conditioned at 5.2% and it tastes really nice. Very fruity tho, not sure if this is normal or caused by me having to leave the hops in for about 5 days (Youngs recommend about 2 I think). If I made one again I defo wouldn't...

Brew 2 - Youngs American Amber Ale questions

Splendid news! Taste should be great, I had the same problem; there was a lot of sediment in the bottle after a few weeks. If I was careful most of it stayed in the bottle but it was hard not to let at least some cloudiness seep in. Was your tea strainer comment a joke or is this a method for...

Brew 3 - Youngs American Pale Ale

Lid was on so I can't see the air changing that much. Will bottle tomoro and see how it goes

    Sentimentality

Hmm drunk them both, figured they'd be horrible at some point so waste of a beer really!

Brew 3 - Youngs American Pale Ale

Hmm quick question: I knocked my FV quite heavily prior to bottling. All the hops and stuff at the top has now dropped to the bottom so I've left it to settle. It will be four days with the hops added if I bottle tomorrow, is this all ok or will the fact that everything has dropped thru the brew...
