    HOMEBREW TASTES

If finances allow,I would always go for two can kits.I myself think that Woodfordes kits take some beating, they definately don't taste like "homebrew". Also, two weeks in a bottle before drinking won't help,I know we all get impatient  ,but an extra 3 or 4 weeks WILL make a big difference...

    Anyone drinking home brew tonight?

My first bottle of Wherry, only been bottled for 5 weeks, but "forced" to drink it because production isn't keeping up with consumption :( Very, very impressed :thumb: ...I suspect that this will now become my default brew

    milestone kits

Conkerwood Ale is an absolute cracker  Not keen on the IPA,but having said that,I'm not sure I like IPA anyway,as I've never drunk it before :wha:

    Woodfordes Nelsons Revenge Review

This was my first brew,so I was "obliged" to start drinking it after carbonation  A cracking drink even so :thumb: I''m starting another batch tomorrow, and as I've managed at last to build up a bit of stock,I'll be able to leave this one to develop properly, looking forward to the...

    Woodfordes Nog Review

    I would agree that it's a heavy beer,albeit a nice drink :thumb: It's a very "filling" drink,so I always drink a bottle of this first if I fancy a skinfull,but can't,because of work the next day etc;

    Capping badger Bottles

I acquired some 660ml Heineken bottles recently, and had real problems trying to cap them yesterday,so another one to avoid :(

Complete Starter ... what kit to use?

If you batchprime in a second fv,you shouldn't need to prime the bottles. Personally, and from my own limited experience  ,I wouldn't go for the brewbelt option.Buy a 40 ltr flexibin (£5 ish ),and a cheap aquarium heater ( tenner or so ),this should keep your brew at a constant...

    Aquarium Heater

    I use a 25W aquarium heater and a 40 Ltr flexi bin (£5 from B&Q) as a 'water heater'.Peace of cake,and no extra cleaning/sterilising.Economical too :D

How Many People on the Forum Have Booze Related Occupations?

I deliver to hospitals and nursing homes, where lots of drinkers end up

    Little bottler etc.

To me,it's not so much the draining aspect that's important,it's the storage and movement advantages of the drainer, you can move 40 ish bottles relatively easily.

    York Brewery Kits

I bought a Stonewall Bitter kit from my LHBS yesterday, and I assumed from the packaging that it was a 2 can kit. I was surprised to find when I opened it,that it was one can,a packet of spraymalt and a sachet of hop pellets :o Anyway,I brewed it up OK today, just wondered if these kits produce a...

    Little bottler etc.

If you can get 40 bottles to stand up ( upside down ) on a sloping draining board 20"x 15" then you're a better man than me

    how many pints a week

Usually 2 pints on a pre-work night, and 3 on Fri/Sat....maybe 4 on Saturday to celebrate an Albion win  (which isn't very often  )....so about 18 in total. I hope that the government busybodies don't read this site

    Little bottler etc.

Having bottled my first 3 brews using the "old fashioned" method  I invested my hard earned into buying a bottle drainer,non-rinse steriliser, and, most importantly...a little bottler. As a result I have transformed 3 hours of b***s aching tedium into a one hour job, thus freeing up much of...

    Videne dilution ?

Many thanks for the "interesting" replies  On closer inspection of my bottle,I have just noticed some usage instructions very cunningly concealed behind the bottle label  It doesn't,of course, list home brew as an application, but I'm delighted to see that it can be applied to genital...

Welcome Wobbly,I'm at the other end of the Newton Road to you ;) The Hamstead HB shop is dead handy if you find that you're 2 caps short after you've started bottling :wha:
