Ginger beer with a biscuit base?

I have used the ginger beer recipe Located here three times now and ti has turned out OK each time, gingery and hot, but lacking a certain something. MY neighbour did the same recipe but must have had some kind of infection, but it did end up tasting GLORIOUS, it had this sort of digestive...

    Klingon Blood Wine

Klingons are basically vikings in SPAAAAACE! AS SUCH! Blood Wine: A heavily spiced mead, brewed sweet (Worf likes his bloodwine young and sweet - He may have been talking about the one who gave the blood, but possibly the ageing) wild honey mead. Filled with cranberries, juniper and...

    Cinnamon Cider

How did it turn out? It is still going! Isnt even 'sweet' yet, i.e. 1.010. nor is it clearing. so how is it going? Woof. i'd say slowly and strong, though i did manage to drop a snifter down the gullet, purely for scientific reasons. It is actually quite nice, REALLY needs some backup spices...

    Cinnamon Cider

No recipe, just a stupid mistake upon my part: Pressed apple juice into demijon. Simmered ground cinnamon to extract flavour, seived and poured juice into demijon. Added extra fermentables for desired ABV% (6%). let cool to 22^C before pitching yeast and nutrient. Normal brew time for cider...

    Marzipan wine/liquer?

It actually went surprisingly well. The marzipan needed to be added multiple times as the dust separated and floated to the top, before being skimmed and a new batch of marzipan melted into water to take its place. Glycerin and sweetener were an absolute must and even with all included it was...

    Anyone For Ginger Beer ???

Its gets smoother and less fiery the longer you leave it. Potentially this may be a bad thing depending on how you like your ginger.

    Upping the ABV%

I am brewing a ginger beer this week and will be wanting one batch for easy drinking at about 4% and one batch that is ridiculously high %, as high As I can get essentially. I normally brew ginger beer with fairly generic 'Youngs Cider Yeast' or Ale yeast, and occasionally youngs wine yeast (I...

    Marzipan wine/liquer?

Flavour seems nice, the almond 'dust' separated from the marzipan after leaving for a few hours and gradually floated to the top leaving behind a rich, marzipan tasting syrup. Will rack from the bottom to clear the dregs and taste then, OG was 1.050 before adding sugar in two stages for 1.120 total.

    Marzipan wine/liquer?

Cheers, I think ill add grape juice, as I have a sultana and strawberry wine goig on now and the wine is very .. winey with wayyy too much body for this application. As for the gravity readings i will be taking the gravity to 1.060 twice so as to now have too much strain on the yeast in the...

    Damson wine

Still a new user so cant post links just amazon search Chapelwood Storage Container. Demijohns are great pieces for test batches, but generally you want bigger volume simply because many problems go away with greater volume (demijohns are buggers to clean inside of). Glass is an excellent...

    Marzipan wine/liquer?

I have leftover a small/large quantity of marzipan and I have checked the ingredients for anythign that could retard yeast, I see noting but sugar, flavouring and almond extract, no preservatives mainly. So: 5 litre Demijohn Dissolve marzipan in water and bring to the boil, dump into the...
