    1st brew- coopers treacle stout

Hi JB I'm not an expert but I made the Coopers Stout with a full pot of filter coffee that had been boiled in a pan a bit to reduce it and I'm still struggling to taste it - I think it made it more bitter though. Just think you may need to up your coffee a bit to get some flavour. cheers

How do I add oatmeal to my stout kit?

Hi Covrich can you just expand a bit on the mini mash thing? Should I add the oatmeal to the pan with the malt extract? thanks

How do I add oatmeal to my stout kit?

    Coopers Wheat Beer

Mine has been bottled for just over 2 weeks now, still indoors and the 2 testers I tried after a day in the fridge were lovely. :thumb: My aim was for this to be a summer brew but just cant see it lasting. I wonder if it is a drink best taken young? Will age improve flavours or will they...

Cooper Wheat beer in FV tasting a bit weak

Dry hopped with Hallertau for around 4 days and bottled this at the weekend. It smelled great, very like wheat beer (strange that :) ), and looked good too. Its going to be weak (3.5 - 4%) but should be a great summer session beer if it lasts that long.

Cooper Wheat beer in FV tasting a bit weak

You are right, it would be a good session beer for Summer, which is what I intended - all be it a bit stronger. What hops would you add to a Wheat beer? cheers Edit: ah, just re-read terryM. Still not sure which hops would enhance that wheat/white beer taste.

Cooper Wheat beer in FV tasting a bit weak

Thanks guys. My OG was 1.035 but after taking the reading I added some dissolved brewing suger. All together I used 500g Wheat spray malt, 450g enhancer (2) then added 250g dissolved bs. Current gravity is 1.01 (after 2 weeks) I might try adding some DME

Cooper Wheat beer in FV tasting a bit weak

Well my Cooper Wheat beer has been in the FV for 2 weeks now and yesterday I was taking a gravity reading. The beer is clearing up nicely (maybe too much) but it is tasting a bit thin & weak. I have a feeling I have mis-calculated the water and may have 24 or so litres in there. Is there...

    Coopers Wheat Beer

I'm doing this (as I mentioned) but I am keeping temp low 18 - 20 after the first day. Does anyone know if this would have a negative effect? Also it has a very strong smell, almost cidery. Should I be worried? cheers

    Brewdog Punk IPA

I like this stuff, the Punk and the Dead Pony, but I agree about the cost, it isn't cheap. Having said that Tesco are doing 4 at £1.79 each which is a bit more palatable (pardon the pun). Until I started home brew I was a lager drinker, couldn't stand ales and bitters but this introduced me...

    Coopers Wheat Beer

Hi I've just put this on to brew and I'm planning 25-30g of the orange and coriander. I am planning to make a 'tea' with them in the second week and leave them in the FV for around 7 days. Looks like you have a lot of fermentables, what ABV are you aiming for?

Dried Orange Peel for Wheat beer?

Right folks, finally got the wheat beer on tonight. Any tips for how and when to add the orange and corrianda? I was thinking of making a tea with them in week 2 of fermentation. Cheers

    Brewdog Punk IPA

Yes, not cheap and still not sure what reusable kit you are getting. Agree they need a refill kit as well.

    Beavertown brewery beer festival

Hi. Not sure if this is allowed or if anyone will be interested but Beavertown Brewery are having an event in London on 13th Feb. You can find them on twitter to get details (so I hopefully don't break any rules). A favourite beer of mine so hope this is of use. :thumb:

    Few Alterations

Hi RB I have also got into Brewdog Punk ipa, they have a website and it tells you which hops are used for each beer. This one uses Chinook, Ahtanum, Amarillo, Cascade, Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin Good luck
