When it works I love the whirlpool arm, but it's 50/50 for me. I seem to have bits of grain escaped that blocks the pump and I'm already using a hop spider. Does anyone have any tips to avoid it. Apart from don't let grain escape 😃 Apologies for hijacking

Last beer I did was a pale ale with Mosaic and Eldorado. I did a hop stand with a 50/50 split and a dry hop of Eldorado. Grain was 60% pilsner, 20% flaked oats, 10% flaked wheat, 10% flaked Barley. I really enjoyed it and I would make it again. No cat like flavours going on, more pineapple/citrus

Cheers for the reply, yeah I lube the carb caps and lid too. The pop trick works really well. I bought a strap wrench for the lid to make things a little easier. I'm loking forward to my next brew and using the valve for the first time. I've better get a move on for Xmas though.

What clearance/width do you have? You can tip it in the holder too. Kegland released a new disconnect with a push fit built in, that might help too

I used the whirlpool arm for the first time at the weekend. It really helped maintining the temperature at 80 degrees. It did cone and definitely I have less trub in the fermenter.
