    British homebrew podcasts/YouTube channels

It is nice to see some UK based channels. Slightly lower expectation of having infinite space to brew and set up in leads to more creative solutions.

    How accurate is your hydrometer?!!

I'm half tempted to get a pycnometer to have a more accurate source of calibration. Should probably wait until I've got enough brews under my belt for it to actually matter to me, so I'll add it fairly far down this infintely growing shopping list.

    BIABasket

I've been looking at just getting spare parts for existing brewers to make my own Frankenstein's monster of a system... The other thing I've considered is building it myself. It would be finer welding than anything I've done before, but there are some fabrication shops that would probably do it...

    Fruit Vodka

Did this with blackberries a few years ago, came out really well!

What is your mains voltage? (UK only, please)

238V in South London right now. (voted) I worked on a site that had diesel generators running at about 4kV. The safety video we were shown made it very clear to not mess about with it. Not much left other than a pair of boots.

    Hello!

I brewed a couple of boxed kits with friends 10 years ago, but decided to get in to it properly recently. So far I've brewed a couple of 5l and 10l all grain kits with lots of help from my local brewery (London Beer Labs.) Doing BIAB on my stovetop with a 15l stockpot and fermenting in a...

    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

Well this looks very, very cool. I'm a software dev by trade, so looking for ways to combine my skills there with this new hobby, though without making it seem too much like work. I've already hacked together my homebrew version of the inkbird fridge controller, this would be ideal to...

    Fermentation Vessel

For bottling, is the normal thing to transfer out of the fermentation vessel in to a bottling bucket, or is it possible to bottle straight out of some of these fermentation vessels? FWIW - I've got a 25l bucket that fits in my modified brew fridge that's doing the trick for now.

I'd like one of these, or at least some of the parts to build one! I'm not sure I can DM you get as I'm a new member but will work out how to soon enough.

Equipment to buy for gradual growth

Got it! 30l boiling in a 33l kettle seemed a little tight to me, but given I haven't done it and you have I'll gladly take your word for it!

Equipment to buy for gradual growth

To clarify, I'm thinking I should buy a 50l pot to acheive 23l batch sizes, which is about as big as I expect I'd want to go. Is that a correct assumption or could I size down and still manage that safely? As I said, 10l in a 15l pot required some juggling.

Equipment to buy for gradual growth

I have a 15l stock pot and I've successfully pumped out a couple of 5l and 10l brew in a bag kits. 10l was a little dicey… I'd like to step up to larger batches as I'm really enjoying this, but the inefficiency is a little disappointing. It's a lot of work and cleaning for 8 pints. I’m trying...
