    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

I'm not yet, but have everything sorted to do so for my next brew. Work of warning with the RF sockets - a fridge compressor needs time to cool down / ramp up - you don't want to be switching it off/on too frequently.

What was the gravity when you put it in the fermenter?

Force carbonating with 16g co2 bulbs?

I'm not sure how efficient the process is and what losses you can expect... I can tell you that 19l of CO2 at room temperature and pressure weight 35g, so 2.4 vols would weigh 84g. Never done it, not sure what the real world problems are, but that would get you in to the ballpark!

    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

I agree! What I meant was that in the absence of the 3D printer I would use the V4 PCB. But I wouldn't want to get just a single PCB printed.

    Looking for AG/BIAB kit in/around London/Liverpool

Willing to take a day trip to pick stuff up! Got a few weekends away planned around Cotswolds/Forest of Bowden in the next month or so too. I currently have a small grain bag, a 15l stock pot, a brew fridge, some buckets and all the essential ancilliary bits and pieces. I have a sizeable wok...

    Gutting/extending an under counter fridge

I meant 90° through the Z axis, so the chiller becomes the left/right wall rather than the back! I'm not going to flip it.

    Gutting/extending an under counter fridge

I have a spare under counter fridge. I've already stuck a tube heater in and arduino controlled it - it fits a 25l fermenter nicely. If I bend the freezer tray down I could get a 35l fermenter in there. I'm thinking about extending it out though, either by rotating it 90°, removing the door and...

    Reading My Hydrometer

Also worth noting that the bottle and ferment ranges are very much guidelines! It's much more important that the final gravity is constant before bottling (and is about what you'd expect) than it just being somewhere in the yellow zone.

When does temperature control matter most?

I'm a proud nerd, I have the equipment around the house to set up some remote temperature monitoring... Will get to it! If I time it right, I could always have a 2-3 day break between batches during which I can cold crash the last but one brew... Edit to add: Got a thermometer running under...

When does temperature control matter most?

I've been thinking about adding another fermentation vessel so I can have a few batches on the go at once from time to time. I have a brewfridge but it'll only fit a single bucket at a time. Is there a point at which temperature doesn't matter so much and I can move it to a less stable...

How many fermentation vessels have you got on the go at once? Looks like you're smashing them out!

    3/4" Anti-Sediment Nut

28mm for the tap I bought. I have that as a hole saw and as a spade bit. Think I'll clamp the bucket to some scrap wood and drill from the inside out.

    3/4" Anti-Sediment Nut

I was wondering about the height. My plan was to install it so that it's flush with the bottom of the bucket with the tap turned through 90 degrees, and I can turn it back when I'm bottling. It's going to have to go on the edge of my worksurface anyway for the wand to have somewhere to be.

    3/4" Anti-Sediment Nut

All grain/brew in a bag is the plan. 30l fits as neatly as 25l in my current brew fridge so thought I may as well take advantage of the room. I have a holesaw set... How hard can it be? I'll report back.

    3/4" Anti-Sediment Nut

Ah, I'm currently fermenting in and bottling out of a 25l bucket with no tap. I plan on adding a tap to it and making that my bottling bucket. I've ordered a 30l bucket which will become my new fermenting bucket - all part of the grand plan to eventually step up to 23l batches.

    3/4" Anti-Sediment Nut

I've decided to add a bottling bucket to my process, bottling with a manual siphon from the FV last time was utter faff. Looks like I don't really need one of these? If I do get one, I suppose I can just add it as far down the bucket as I can?
