    pico boiler false bottom woes

was included in the kit bought from geterbrewed, it fits a treat real nice snug fit, but it does move in the boil, it tends to drop down at an angle leaving a small gap enough for it to let a fair bit of debris through ! so I knocked up a spider using an old aluminium pot, I cut the...

    New brew fridge

it is a standard under counter fridge and I built the shelf to the same height as the rear part, and routed the wires out through the drain hole the tape holds the temp probe to the fv behind some bubble wrap as that seems to monitor the wort temp the best, and it is a Elitech stc1000...

    Youngs American IPA

I've rinsed with tap water before, not had any issues, I always put mine in the oven for a couple of hours now and let them cool down over night before bottling day, bone dry and sanitised that way

    Belgian brew / yeast starter

depends on how much headroom in the fv you've got as to whether the krausen climbs out or not, mine didn't this time but it has in the past, an airlock wouldn't have stood a chance

    Belgian brew / yeast starter

I brewed a Belgian Blonde recipe from Maltmiller last weekend and used rehydrated t-58 yeast, it kicked off within a few hours and went nuts for a few days before calming down, I'm glad I use a blow off tube !!

Getting started with AG on budget

I bought the very same kit a month ago, busy planning my third brew with it atm, no troubles at all with a rolling boil even outside, I did have to buy a bigger bag though with my second grain purchase (Maltmiller) as the supplied one (although works) was a tad small to fit around the rim and...

    Youngs American IPA

exactly my method too Clint, the first draw from the bottle wand is usually into a glass that I sup as I go along ! I bottled this very kit a few weeks ago and I've had a couple of bottles this week to see where it's at and it's coming good, a tasty drop :thumb:

BIAB Starter Kit (Peco Boiler, Chiller, Mashing bag, Mash Kit)

I made a jacket for mine out of an old camping mat, when covered with an old sleeping bag and sat on some polystyrene it keeps temp very well, dropped 2deg yesterday over 90mins, outside as well ! just flick the element on to bring the temp up a little if needed, but I've never needed too :thumb:
