    My best T/C to date

Fed up with turbo cider turning into the sort of stuff that takes the enamel off your teeth and after many experiments I've finally found one I like. 5l apple juice 3/4 apples ( depending on size ) 1/2 pears ( ditto ) 2 bananas 1 tin strawberries in light syrup. All purpose yeast...

    Coopers Real Ale

I'm planning to do this kit after Christmas ( providing santa remembers to bring me the heating pad I asked for ) It will be the first beer kit I've done in over 20 years and I'm going to brew it to the "unreal ale" recipe I found on the Coopers website ( brew kit enhancer 1 and 500g light DME )...

First Bash At A Tangerine Wine

So I guess 5 pints of cider or 5 glasses of fruit wine a day could be considered a bit ott for my 5 a day then? Ah well it was worth asking. :drink:

First Bash At A Tangerine Wine

I like the look of this wine and as you say Tangerines are cheap at this time of year, Keep us updated on how it goes please. On the subject of fruit wines does anybody know if it counts towards your 5 a day?

Which Beer Kit To Use? Please Advise!

I wouldn't try and give you advice on which kit to buy and brew, But my advice would be to first decide which type of beer you want to brew (e.g. Lager, Bitter etc ) Then look at the kits that are available to you, Once you've done that then read as many reviews as you can for the available kits...

What's the Best Thing You've Ever Brewed?

I've only ever brewed beer from kits but 2 that stand out from years ago were Dogbolter and a dark beer I made from an Ironmaster kit, If pushed then the Dogbolter edge's it for me.

    Fiery Ginger Beer

I've just bottled 2 gallons of this and I have to say it's not that bad if just a little dry, I made 2 little alterations in that I used golden castor sugar ( which has added to the colour ) and I threw in around 4oz of mixed dried fruit to the boiling pot that was sitting in the cooking...

    Festival Landlords Best Bitter Review

I was reading about secondary fermentation on another website just this morning, According to this site the idea is to get the beer off the main spent yeast sludge as soon as it's finished fermenting to avoid it imparting a funny taste into the freshly brewed beer and then to bulk condition the...

    Sugar with added sweetener

That's what I like about these forums you can ask questions like this and get logical answers prior to doing something, Rather than jumping in and doing it just to find you've got it wrong and wasted a brew.

    Sugar with added sweetener

I must admit I never gave a thought to the weight of it so thanks for pointing it out, I've got a 5 litre Turbo Cider to bottle soon so I'll experiment by the spoonful rather than weighing it out for batch priming.

    Sugar with added sweetener

Hello all, Not sure if this has been discussed before but I was thinking to myself the other day that when it comes to making drinks like Turbo Cider and Fiery Ginger Beer a common problem that brewers encounter is how dry the finished product seems to be. So it got me wondering if when it comes...

Hello i'm new to the forum so I thought I'd introduce myself, I've dabbled in the fine art of home brewing in the past with limited success and thought it was time to give it another try. I stumbled across this forum a couple of days ago and I've learned so much allready and i'm looking forward...
