I am going to try the coat hanger trick. I made a degassing tool out of a length of 10mm plastic tube, drilled a few holes in it and threaded strimmer cable through it, worked a treat.

I am just getting back into winemaking and tried some of the cheaper kits, but was advised to try the Beaverdale Merlot. I am about to bottle my first attempt it smells really fuity and fresh so are looking forward to trying it. I am planning the same as you my next will be a 30 bottle kit.

I used to brew beer and wine many, many years ago when I had the space. Just started again using kits but looking forward to getting back into it.
