Should everybody have a ID Card

Living in Spain I can see the advantages of having an ID card. The main ones being you don't have to have your passport to travel, or if whilst on holiday you lose your passport you can still get home. Coz I'm a Brit I just have my passport so neither of these advantages applies to me which I...

    Fermentation Fridge

How much are we talking for one of these? I'd probably get a small one as space is an issue in our flat.

    No worries, thanks anyway :)

Party Star deluxe and CO2 cartridges

Great, so if let's say I think I may have taken too long to fill my keg and I think too much air got in would attaching the Partystar and then giving it a blast of co2 be a good idea? Thanks :)

Party Star deluxe and CO2 cartridges

Just wondering, once you attach the party star to your keg is that keg now "open" and at risk of oxidation or does the tap still keep it sealed shut?

    Top things to improve brews

For me (a very new brewer) the 2 things that have helped me the most so far have been leaving it to ferment for at least 2 weeks and joining this forum (very cheesy I know!!). Learning from more experienced brewers and not being afraid to ask "daft" questions has helped me loads!! Been really...

    Drying yeast at home

Could you leave the yeast to dry in the sun? Obviously covered from bugs etc.

Party Star deluxe and CO2 cartridges

Yeah mine has that too but it's hollow, there was a piece of plastic inside that made the hole even smaller but I dug it out because I thought it shouldn't be there. Party Star deluxe and CO2 cartridges

btw I have another question about these, you know the black tube that you breach the keg with? Does anyone else's have something inside it to make the hole smaller?

    Alcohol in Kombucha

Evening all, as my brother is a hipster he has started making his own Kombucha instead of brewing beer. We were chatting about the potential for alcohol to be present in the homemade stuff. Does anyone know of a way to test homemade kombucha for alcohol content?

Mangrove Jack French Saison yeast - What should it taste like?

I've been asking about brewing possibilities for warmer temperatures (my pantry is already up to 23c) and Saison was one of the names that kept cropping up. So last weekend I bought one to try as I can't remember what the last one I had tasted like (was a bit merry at that point). I thought it...

Ahhh I hadn't heard that. I'll do some more research on it

Party Star deluxe and CO2 cartridges

I got one of these for xmas and even though I've only used it once, I'm happy with it. From the looks of it the CO2 cartridges are the same as the ones you have to inflate bike tyres so I am just going to buy from a bike shop.

    Bottling via a second bucket

I've always bottled straight from the FV but thought maybe a second bucket would mean less "bits" in the bottles. But after reading this from much more seasoned brewers, reckon I'll stick to the straight from the FV method!

I also have one of those things you put over the neck of a wine bottle and then use it to suck the air out. Not sure if that would be worthwhile whilst bottling??
