Ok, thanks will stick a fan on it and see if I can get it down a little.

    First brew from all grain

Yeah, looks like it went well. Fermenter is bubbling away quite well today. I've noticed the temp has shot up to 26 over night. As I've no heating on the fermenter, I assume this is some sort of expected exotherm from the yeast / sugar interaction?

    First brew from all grain

Ok! So yesterday, after some faffing around and running late, brew day happened. Got a Exceedingly Good IPA, with cascade hops bubbling slowly @ 22c this morning, so something clearly happened. Thoughts... It took me much longer than I thought it would, but I put this down to experience. The...

So how long do you leave the hops in for? Assuming they're in a bag or spider?

Morning all, So I've got the gear set up and sterilised. Grainfather and a plastic fermenter. I've got my grain, hops and yeast ready to go. Still looking for a decent method of sparge water heating, so I'll just go with the big pot on the cooker for the moment. So what am I waiting for...

    Grainfather S40 Leak

Yeah, the tube fitting into the valve doesnt look like its been made properly. Time to look for a fix for this. I think the expanded section of pipe isnt long enough to but up against the screw and the seal at the same time. Forgot to tak pictures.......

    Grainfather S40 Leak

Hi All, Just got the S40 unpackaged and cleaned out. Was just wiping the inside and was thinking about decontaminating the pump and inlet /outlet. Added 20 litres of hot water and set it to heat up. After a while I switched on the pump and water started to escape from the connection above the...

    Another new member

Hi everyone, I'm Ross and I've just joined. Been pottering about with Brew in a bag, brew in box, etc. Even tried Pinter, ( not a great experience there ). I've managed to come by a used Grainfather S30, and whilst it's still on its way to me, I thought I'd join up and see what hints and tips...
