I received a call on my works phone earlier i couldn't make out what the person said buy they said something about being cut off and then said press #1 i ended the call, has anyone here had a similar call from this number?

We don't give these numbers out so i assume they just dial random numbers until someone picks up.

Put it in that number finder Web site..usually tells you if its a scam.

I tried "Who called me" and it came up with this 1 comment and only 13 searches.

I am now more confused as our work phones are Vodafone :?:

I often get calls with a number similar to my work phone number and it can change a digit or 2 but it’s a random computer call scam thing. Pain in the asre

It means it's a scam and the scammer has chosen a Vodafone number to do her dastardly deeds.

Is Vodafone really an LTD rather than a PLC?

Hitting #1 will connect you to an extremely expensive call service, this is a well known scam.

I signed up to an app linked to my ebike, now I get robo calls from Chinese scammers telling me my visa has expired!

I don’t know how you have avoided these for so long. I block 1 every 1-2 weeks.

Any number that’s isn’t in my directory gets binned off. My work phone gets none so it’s obvious how they are getting distributed.

Same here.
I don't get any on my own mobile probably because I don't use the number when I register for anything etc.

I get two or three calls a week from ‘Three’, I generally spin them out for as long as possible and trying to get them to go off script. If I can get them to tell me to f-off then I’ve won the game!

Used to get calls in work asking for some chap I used to work for regularly.
I used to spin them some right yarns...
Emigrated to Australia.
Out flying his aeroplane.
Washing his Ferrari....
I'd also put planet rock on the radio for them too.
Such fun.

If they used an auto dialer, they can put in the first prefix, 0000 and to thru to prefix 9999. It will call every number within that range. I've had it done to me.

I like the Indian gentleman called James from Microsoft who is very kindly calling to tell me my Internet will be turned off very soon unless...
That's the point I try some very Anglo saxon bad language...
