We buy this because we don't drink a lot of milk and it lasts 7 days once opened, they are starting to add Bovaer to cows feed and this has caused a bit of a stink on the internet from regular customers who don't want this adding to the feed, do you drink Cravendale will you carry on or switch brands?

It all sounds great when you watch the video but they would say that wouldn't they. :confused.:

I tried Cravendale recently for the first time in years, I tend to drink quite a lot of milk and it's been organic only for quite some time, to me Cravendale tastes like it's been watered down.

Not sure exactly what they do to it but it's pretty grim compared to even store brand organic milk.

I think It is filtered so yes its a bit watery we only drink it in brews so its not an issue for us.

We have gone Organic since they have started adding Bovaer.
Aldi milk is supplied by Arla so yes it contains Bovaer but they sell Organic which doesn't Chippy

It’s more finely filtered to remove more of the bacteria. Less bacteria to start with means they reproduce slower and therefore the milk takes longer to go sour. If you prefer the taste of the non filtered it’s the bacteria you like the taste of 😉

I didn't know that.

That's some tasty bacteria! :laugh8:

Bacteria people are not exposed enough to build their immune system, we now live in a sanitised world, a few years ago i witnessed a family enter a pizza place at Alton towers the bloke went to order his misses and 2 kids sat down, she the completely sprayed the table and chairs and the kids hands, my misses said i feel for those kids they will get every bug going, the whole place was looking at them in total astonishment

So...is it methane or c02 the issue?
If its c02 I'd say that probably every dairy farm where the cows walk on grass are c02 neutral.
It's the dairys where the cows stand on concrete all their lives are the subject matter.
Oh yeah....look it up...some cows never see a field.

Bacteria people?!

If people want to drink too much or get off their heads on drugs fair enough this is about people who have bought Cravendale milk for years not wanting Bovaer adding to cows feed.

Well quite, but it is rather amusing that people seem to get themselves all hot under the collar over something that appears to be safe, vs ingesting an actual poison (alcohol) in large quantities.

It reminds of an old colleague of mine who used to go on and on about the alleged connection between aluminium and dementia. She never seemed to worry about the bottles and bottles or wine she got through on a weekly basis funnily enough.

The cynic in me says that the majority of people getting themselves whipped up over this don't have the slightest idea what it is they're worried about. All seems very "anti-green agenda" when I see the sources of the confected outrage.

Do we not trust our farmers this week?
