Time to start working through this lot, methinks. Can't say I'm looking forward to it. 👀
TBF, that’s a critics list rather than the biggest chart songs of the year, and so about half of it isn’t mainstream pop music either - MJ Lenderman and Waxahatchee (who is excellent BTW) both have fewer than a million monthly Spotify listeners for example; Fontaines DC are an Irish rock band, and Kim Gordon was the bass player in Sonic Youth.

@MickDundee congrats on the peat & Diesel top 500!

Personally hate the way Spotify works search for something and get all sorts back.
For me it's vinyl or high bit rate mp3 on the ipod. vinyl lasts longer than CDs so I discovered. Mini Disks last a surprising long time though.
On the subject of the 80's. Started good then went downhill faster than Fanny Chmelar. Thankfully we were saved when the 90s came around.

I like the fact that UTube is the new Napster. (if you have a VPN and set it to the US)
For me its old punk, indie and psychedelic stuff. Love Hoveriii just now and am getting into Bodega.

Got to get me a record deck so I can have a listen to my LPs.

Do it.

Put one on your Christmas list before it becomes one of those things you don’t get round to.

LPs do sound better than CDs.

Son in law inherited a hifi system which I had to talk them through setting up. Favourite questions when it was working :-

Which side does it play, the one facing down or the one facing up?
How do you pause it ?
How do you skip to the next track ?
How do you play the other side ?

:laugh8:

It's YouTube for me (free version).
If you haven't heard of him, Ren is an independent artist, multi genres.
He also collaborates with other talented artists and performed with his band based in Brighton (The big push)
He's also suffered chronic illness for many years after being misdiagnosed.
He actually has Lyme disease.
I believe he spent most of last year in Canada receiving treatment. He's had to return to Canada for more treatment after relapse.
