Did wonder what had happened to PG. For some reason we used to get both PG and Yorkshire Tea at work, I'd always go for the Yorkshire but our new office manager now only buys PG, understandable as we don't really need two types of tea. However the first time I used one I made my usual cup with one bag, after a few minutes brewing I gave it a stir and thought this looks like gnat's piss, left another minute or so, still not great, added the milk, yep horrible and weak.

I should probably just take my own teabags to work now to my exacting standards but at the moment I'm using two PG bags per brew to get it to be a decent strength. So for me at least it's using twice as many teabags per day rather than just buying the Yorky tea which I assume got dropped as it cost a bit more.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Try them fist. 1100 cups of tea you are not keen on might be a challenge 😁
I'm thinking that they may be a regional item. They may be listed on the Tesco website but Mrs Soupdragon just logged in to her Tesco account and they're not listed on our local (big) Tesco

Cheers Tom

Mrs Soupdragon has just checked her account with them and no joy. I've looked on Ocado, no luck there either. If I want to try them I'll have to either buy direct or from that horrible place (Amazon)

Cheers Tom

In the words of George Orwell

"First of all, one should use Indian or Ceylonese tea. China tea has virtues which are not to be despised nowadays β€” it is economical, and one can drink it without milk β€” but there is not much stimulation in it. One does not feel wiser, braver or more optimistic after drinking it. Anyone who has used that comforting phrase β€˜a nice cup of tea’ invariably means Indian tea"

I was looking for a piece he wrote about the relationship to age and strength of tea, my mother bless her had started leaving the bag in by the time she was in her 60s🀣🀣🀣

As home brewers we go to a lot of trouble to make a decent pint of beer.
So why don't we put in a little extra effort and make a pot of tea with loose leaf tea ??

I used to use loose tea but it's a bit of a faff when you want to make a quick brew in the morning before going to work.

The answer is eight.

It takes me 8 days to make beer. But I have 8 cups of tea a DAY.

I'm thinking that they may be a regional item.,,,,

Had a few glasses, then read that as "they may be a religious item..." Well, I do think tea drinking is important.

A Typhoo person myself, as like pack division into smaller foil sealed sachets, for freshness.
So was stocking up last week, when Typhoo went into administration (though a buyer has now been found).
