I find the disparity between grass roots football and the major leagues unacceptable and so much worse than the majority of other sports.

I totally agree more money needs to be spent and it looks like they are heading in the right direction, this was announced on 18 April -

The Premier League and The Football Association (The FA) have today announced an agreement that will increase funding to the football pyramid.

The League will provide up to £133million per season from the 2025/26 season, maintaining existing commitments and enhancing support to key areas of the game. The Premier League currently gives away £1.6billion every three years – 16 per cent of its total revenues – to all levels of men’s and women’s football, and this new money will provide significant support to a range of areas as the game continues to grow.

This commitment will see increased investment to both the Football Foundation and Premier League Stadium Fund to develop facilities at lower league clubs, improving the playing and spectator experience, as well as clubs’ financial sustainability. The funding will also create more opportunities for people with a disability to play football, and support the ongoing development of the girls' game.

In all fairness, Rafa was managing years ago so that chart is not relevant to his period at the club. He had a shoestring budget because he wasn't winning like the other clubs.

First thing the EPL/FA need to do is get rid of all the loop holes, clubs are going to get ruined with this new multi-club ownership model that seems to be the way most are going to avoid the spending rules.

United fans on 606 are saying Erik ten Hag has had 23 new players so the disappointing start to the season cannot be blamed on the squad, 1 win 1 loss is not good enough fans are calling for him to be sacked what do united fans here think?

Club Statement.

Following today’s publication of the Rule X Arbitral Tribunal Award, Manchester City Football Club thanks the distinguished members of the Arbitral Tribunal for their work and considerations and welcomes their findings:
The Club has succeeded with its claim: the Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules have been found to be unlawful and the Premier League’s decisions on two specific MCFC sponsorship transactions have been set aside
The Tribunal found that both the original APT rules and the current, (amended) APT Rules violate UK competition law and violate the requirements of procedural fairness.
The Premier League was found to have abused its dominant position.
The Tribunal has determined both that the rules are structurally unfair and that the Premier League was specifically unfair in how it applied those rules to the Club in practice.
The rules were found to be discriminatory in how they operate, because they deliberately excluded shareholder loans.
As well as these general findings on legality, the Tribunal has set aside specific decisions of the Premier League to restate the fair market value of two transactions entered into by the Club.
The tribunal held that the Premier League had reached the decisions in a procedurally unfair manner.
The Tribunal also ruled that there was an unreasonable delay in the Premier League’s fair market value assessment of two of the Club’s sponsorship transactions, and so the Premier League breached its own rules.
Click here to download page 164 of the judgment, which summarises the Tribunal’s decision.

Fair play to Liverpool can you carry this to the end of the season?

What are Man united fans thoughts on the manager, on 606 some wanted him out and some wanted to give him a chance.

If we don't win it this season and he leaves we will thank him for everything he has done for us and look back on our success in all competitions but mainly our dominance of the PL -

The past means nothing

That is unbelievable statement coming from a Liverpool fan, this from a Liverpool fan sums it up perfectly -

Why do Liverpool fans talk about history so much?
Because, unlike many others, Liverpool fans can.
Why do you think Indians are proud of its ancient civilization and talk about it when it's just history? History gives credibility. It tells people that somebody did something in the past that deserves the respect of others (if the history's good, that is).
Granted that the club's present isn't as good as its history. That, however, doesn't take anything away from what it has achieved - it's there for all to see. And sometimes, people need reminding.
