I will not be watching and do hope as he says his career is finished its a shame he tried to make this comeback i don't know why anyone would want to watch it.

Former This Morning host Phillip Schofield has suggested his stint on Channel 5's desert island survival show Cast Away will be his last TV appearance.

Speaking to the cameras from the deserted Madagascan island where he spent 10 days searching for food, water and shelter, the 62-year-old says he doesn't "care any more, this is me having my say as I bow out".

Many had expected Schofield to quit television for good when he left ITV, having lied and later admitted to an affair with a younger employee at the company. He subsequently disappeared from the spotlight and told the BBC that his career was finished.

It's just a last cash grab and then out, never did like the bloke tbh so won't be watching though I am sure there are many who will.

Correct me if i am wrong, did he break the law was he charged and found guilty of an offence, he made a mistake which became public if this had been jack the lad no one would ever know

I have certainly made some mistakes too. But never suffered like that as a legally innocent man.

I personally hope he has found his way through it and whatever he needs for a happy life.

Not sure about that, he's disappeared down the conspiracy rabbit hole. What he said about Schofield in that clip I reckon is pretty close to slander i'd imagine.

Holmes: Mouth in top and brain in neutral. Missed the point that Schofield is innocent until proved guilty by a court. Hew Edwards however.....

@pilgrimhudd got it right.

Don't get me wrong I am not a paid up member of any fan club, other than.....

He may not have been convicted for having *** with an underage male but he lied about his affair to his wife, family, agent, legal team, management, colleagues and friends i for one don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth and am glad i will never see him on the TV again, this review of tonight's show sums him up -

While Schofield admitted the affair was “unwise”, he blamed homophobia for the backlash (“if it was male-female, then it wouldn’t be such a scandal”, he said). Eighteen months later, he’s back on his screens, but rather than finding peace, he’s still stewing about his unfair treatment (as he sees it). “I’ve just been sad,” he says. “I want to see if the ultimate isolation can set me free.”

Scofield quit all of his roles at ITV, including Dancing On Ice, with immediate effect. It came after the presenter admitted to lying to his wife, management, legal team and ITV about a secret relationship with a younger male colleague. In a statement shared with the media, Phil said it was an "unwise but not illegal affair".

He said: "I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family. I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife. I have therefore decided to step down from the British Soap Awards, my last public commitment, and am resigning from ITV with immediate effect.

Phil apologised for misleading his lawyer and said he was "deeply sorry" for having lied. "I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning," he wrote. "Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship. That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over."

His wife, family and friends (some) appear to have been understanding and forgiving. They are the ones that matter.

I believe very little of what's on telly anyway, and he hardly presented newsnight 😁

Everyone will draw the own conclusion.
