Can all purpose yeast be used on cider

Yes it can. It's not ideal, but it'll work fine. Don't kits come with a sachet of yeast?
Yes I've done on the rocks peach and mango, was bubbling fine when started seems to have slowed right down after 2 days!
I prefer to use either a specific cider yeast, or a general wine yeast.
But I also did a demijohn with bakers yeast last year & it still came out as cider.

I've never used official cider yeast. I've used wine, ale, and lager yeasts with good results.
