Boosting a Simply Bitter kit with Medium spraymalt

Mouthfeel, I guess. Maybe I could just use less water to give it a bit more 'body'? I've never used spray malt before so I don't know what to expect.

Boosting a Simply Bitter kit with Medium spraymalt

I'm hoping to get the best beer for my bucks, and using 500g of spray malt increases the overall cost by around £5. Using 1 kg would put the price up to around £1 per litre!

Boosting a Simply Bitter kit with Medium spraymalt

I'm about to build up a stock of beer ahead of a holiday break and have bought a couple of Simply Bitter kits and two x 500g bags of medium spray malt. This is not my first rodeo...

Thank you. It would be good to hear opinions from anyone using Geordie kits themselves.

This is not my first rodeo...

...but it IS the first time I have fallen off! As I said in my intro, I've been making beer at home using the 'kit and a kilo' method for around 40 years. The kits are mostly ales or bitters from Youngs, Coopers, John Bull or Simply. My method hasn't changed, I use a white plastic 25l bin and...

    New Arrival!

Hi All, I'm in Orkney and have been brewing my own beer, nearly always from LME kits, for around 40 years. I joined yesterday because I have a problem! I'll tell you about it in the General Beer Brewing Discussion forum.
