Wow! Small world indeed Harvey. In fact I remember your name, as I don’t think there was another Harvey there at that time. I was there 86-88. At the end I gave them on loan a big painting of some boats and barges on the River Don. 5 feet x 4. Years later I was there doing Modern Greek at...

Btw , I think Sam Smiths beer got a bum rap in the Rotherham area when I was growing up, although I love it,…..I often heard the phrase.. ‘’if you think the bottom’s dropped out of your world, drink Sam Smiths’ and watch the world drop out of your bottom!’

Ey up Al. yes I’ve got a few I want to try….all from Grahams book and Dave Line’s book…including Sam Smiths, John Smiths beer and magnet. I have noticed in Daves book reference to EDME DMS malt, would you have any idea what it is? And would there be a substitute? id also like to find some...

    Scaling extract recipes with Brewfather

Hi thanks for the info but I’m not sure what youre saying. The info I gave was to scale recipes which don’t use full cans. Btw , tell him to get some trailgazer beer from Lidl, bloody gorgeous stuff, good price too. I’ve just harvested some yeast from 3 bottles and used it in a Chinook ipa kit I got. It’s doing great at the moment. I brew on a tilt so that the trub settles below the spout.

Welcome Andy! im new to the board myself. your recipe sounds like a variant of the Ukrainia Kvass/ Latvian Girá. But that uses toasted rye bread , raisins, sugar lemons, caraway seeds, bakers yeast….very tasty stuff too, and it can get potent. Worth a try if you’ve never had it. have fun mate...
