Cheers for your suggestion. Trouble is I have no idea what it’s called as it’s not just a flat standard washer, it’s cupped to accommodate (I presume) the ball in the ball valve🤷 Thought it’d be a simple eBay jobby but nope.

I brew a lot of dme brews as well as all grain. 3kg dme for 22 litres along with any steeping grains or spices and whatever hops Dark Farm hop club sends me. I always boil full volume as I would with all grain. Had some pretty good beers if I do say so myself.

Stainless steel fermenters for me because I no chill. Straight from my all in one at end of boil into the fermenter to chill overnight, add yeast in the morning and stick the whole thing into my ferminator for around 10 days.

Yep! I don’t really use the temp dial other than full on I just turn it down when at mash temp until it clicks off so it doesn’t overheat the mash but don’t rely on it. Burco/cygnet boiler works great. Had to change the tap which took a bit of figuring out but got there in the end. Infact I’m so happy with it I’m not sure I want to part with it 🙄 I still use it for extract brews occasionally.

Nah, I ended up going for a burco boiler and have since upgraded to a brewmonk.

Dark Farm 10Ltr kegs with absolutely no regrets. Tried everything else and just ended up getting frustrated with faults or the tedium of bottling. Even chucked in the cornie kegs due to faffiing with big bottles of gas. These things are perfect for me 1 16g bulb per keg as I don’t do fizzy pop.

I have 10 litre kegs and just have cracked open my first keg of stout. After advice from here and other places I opted for priming with 40g sugar and left it for a couple of weeks. Turned out pretty perfect for me. You need a lot of gas for force carbing and those 16g caplets don’t go far. Great...
