    Thanks Klaus, it certainly seems like a really friendly forum and I'm looking forward to being part of it. Yes it is a shame that so many shops have shut down they were good place to get advice. I'm going to try and use the nearest shop but it is a 30 mile round trip. Cheers!

    Thanks. I had to google the Felinfoel reference🙂. I've never tried it to be honest but I'll have to now. It's a shame the Hop and Grape closed a few years ago now, my Dad used to buy his wine and beer kits there. I like to drink cask ales when I can, we have quite a few decent pubs in...

    Thanks, it's good to be here. I think you must mean the Hop & Grape which closed down a few years ago sadly. My Dad used to buy his kits from there and I brewed one or two from there myself quite a few years ago now. The nearest shop we have now is Allans Home Brew Corner in Middlesbrough. Cheers!

    I've just started brewing beer. I've got my first batch on the go now, hopefully ready in time for Christmas. The HBF looks like a great place to learn from experienced home brewers and maybe share my own experience eventually. Steve
